HOBBIES AND INTERESTS:

Classic Cars and Classic Motor Racing – I am a member of Brooklands, a Committee member for the Rover P6 Club, and head Area Organizer worldwide. Snooker, golf, cooking, wine, City of London – I am a member of the Bread Street and the Broad Street Ward Clubs, World travel, gardening, Education – I am a Vice President,  committee member and past President of  my old boarding school’s Club for past pupils.

SKILLS: Banking, IT and Law, negotiation, governance and common sense

CAREER HISTORY:

Management training in the sixties included Banking, Gold and foreign Exchange dealing, Stock Market, and Stock Registration whist working on the shop floor plus mentor’s lectures on the wider aspects of various offices. IT training in late sixties. Programming, then Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, and Project Leader by early 70’s on Banking related and Economic systems (Time series etc). Worked on major team in early seventies to pioneer and introduce database real time systems.Traveling and liason with most major companies in UK. In 1980 appointed Official and Technical Manager for the Bank and as a Principal had my own loo! Personnel skills, responsible for recruiting and and firing staff, Government Official. Travelled widely including abroad Chairing meetings and producing / presenting papers as Chairman of the UK Group for Guidance for Users of IBM Data Processing Equipment. Also presented papers to the British Computer Audit Group. In1985 back to Project Managing as Senior Manager for 1/3 of Banks projects. Last job before retiring was Head of Contracts and Legal Issues. My responsibilities included signing  contracts over £100,000 including multi million pound contracts. 
RED HILL SCHOOL/TRUST CONNECTION:
One of my sons boarded at Red Hill School in the 1980’s and I was a parent Governor. When the school closed I was involved with the other Governors in the priorities exercises and the formation of the Red Hill Trust of which I became one of the original Trustees. I have now been involved with Red Hill for 37 years.
